Europejski Urząd ds. Bezpieczeństwa Żywności (EFSA) odrzucił francuskie badania dotyczące produkowanych przez firmę Monsanto nasion kukurydzy NK603, odpornych na silny środek tej firmy Roundup.
We wrześniu francuscy naukowcy z uniwersytetu Caen, ogłosili, że mogą one zagrażać zdrowiu i powodować raka. Ich badania były przyczyną apeli o zaostrzenie unijnego prawa dotyczącego uprawiania roślin GMO. Na podstawie podobnych badań w maju Francja zakazała hodowli nasion kukurydzy MON810.
EFSA stwierdziła, że wyniki francuskich badaczy nie są wystarczającym powodem do zakazu hodowli tej odmiany kukurydzy. Zakwestionowała ona wiarygodność badań m.in. z powodu dobrania do nich szczurów typu albinos Sprague-Dowley, które uważa za szczególne podatne na raka. Prowadzący francuski zespół badawczy naukowiec Gilles Eric Seralini nie krył swojego zaskoczenia decyzją EFSA, zapowiedział, że skomentuje ją dopiero po zapoznaniu się z precyzyjnym uzasadnieniem.
Francuskie badania wywołały w całej Europie ponowną dyskusję na temat genetycznie modyfikowanej żywności, poskutkowały nawet zakazem uprawy kukurydzy NK603 w Rosji. Grupa rosyjskich naukowców z Narodowego Stowaryszenia Bezpieczeństwa Genetycznego zapowiedziała rozpoczęcie własnych badań nad modyfikowaną kukurydzą w marcu 2013 roku. Aby ich obserwacje i wnioski były ogólnie dostępne, planuje umieścić kamery w klatkach poddanych eksperymentom szczurów i emitować obraz z nich w internecie.

Rośliny GMO są odporne na silne pestycydy, były odpowiedzią na wzrost użycia środków chemicznych w rolnictwie, przez co są atrakcyjne dla rolników zapewniając lepsze plony. Budzą jednak wiele kontrowersji ze względu na możliwy wzrost zachorowalności na raka i defektów rodzących się dzieci.
Badania wykonane przez firmę Monsanto w 2002 roku stwierdzają, że składniki kukurydzy NK603 nie są szkodliwe dla organizmów innych niż docelowe, w tym ludzi i zwierząt.
Uprawy GMO są promowane jako „ambitne rozwiązanie problemu głodu na świecie”. Ma na to wpłynąć skala produkcji, bezpieczeństwo środowiska. Monsanto twierdzi, że produkty firmy są przebadane i bezpieczne.

Na Pańskim blogu spotkałem się dwa razy z tchórzami-cwaniakami. Pierwszy twierdził, że RM i ND muszą być prousraelskie i mieć pewne tabu, bo inaczej je władza zamknie. Drugi twierdził, że dobrze wszystkie hasła sprowadzić do skandowania „precz z komuną”, bo inaczej dzielnych protestujących władza również pozamyka. Czyli mamy piszczeć głośno acz niewyraźnie 🙂
Troszkę wyrobienia intelektualnego, opanowania emocji i można coś nie coś przekazać. Forma wg. mnie jest bardzo ważna. Podobny, dobry warsztat ma Stanisław Michalkiewicz. Jak przychodzi do rozprawy sądowej to wyślizuje się jak węgorz. Niestety SM cierpi na przerost formy nad treścią, większość jego tekstów jest o niczym. Nie wszytskie, ale tak z 80%-90% nie wnosi żadnej nowej wiedzy.

After a French study suggested that rats fed on Monsanto GMO corn suffered tumors, Russian researches plan their own, this time public, experiment. The unique reality show with rats is expected to prove or deny GMO’s health-threatening influence.
The Russian scientists, who oppose genetically modified organisms (GMO) in food, expect that their year-long experiment will show whether the controversial cultivation process has effects as dangerous as French revelations claimed on September 19.
Scientists from France’s University of Caen made public the results of their classified study, publishing the images of rats with tumors after they were fed a diet of genetically modified (GM) maize produced by American chemical giant Monsanto.
The revelation stirred fear across Europe and in Russia, where authorities temporarily suspended the import and sale of Monsanto’s genetically modified corn.
Russian researches from the National Association for Genetic Safety (NAGS) believe such experiments should be conducted publicly, so that people can see the process with their own eyes, and thus trust, or not, the study.
So they came up with the idea of public experiment. Web cameras, installed in cages with rats, will broadcast all stages of the experiment online. The unique reality show will be available on the Internet 24/7 worldwide.
“This is a unique experiment,” project author Elena Sharoykina told RT. “There hasn’t been anything like it before – open, public research by opponents and supporters of GMO.”
The idea behind the test is to feed several groups of rats with different food. One group will be fed with soybeans and corn with a high content of GMOs, while the other gets the same products, but with low GMO levels. The third will be given food with no GMO whatsoever, and the fourth with standard rat food.
For the sake of the purity of the experiment, employees who feed the rats will not know what kind of food they are giving.
Scientists expect to observe five generations of rats, if the rodents survive.
“It is hard to predict how animals will react,” Sharoykina said.
Such an experiment was initially planned to be held in 2006, but back then researchers failed to find financial support. So, they initiated another study, using hamsters. The scientists oversaw a few generations of the rodents and concluded that by the third generation, some of the animals became infertile.
To make the experiment objective, the group of scientists will also include supporters of GMOs and foreign experts.
The research is to be launched in March 2013, because the scientists still have to work out their methods, form a team and find funding.
The current project may cost up to $1 million. Scientists hope to find commercial sponsors, get grants from the government, or even raise some funds through public financing, for example, through the Internet.
Sharoykina says that if the experiment does prove the destructive influence on animals, it should be the pretext to banning GMOs in Russia.
“But we will have a chance to understand in what direction we should move,” she said. “If this research proves negative influence, and supporters of GMOs accept it, the next step should be a moratorium on products with GMOs in Russia.”

No i w ramach rozwiązania tego problemu zniszczono polskie rolnictwo – metodami bakserskimi.
Tu chodzi o trzymanie za pysk przy pomocy żywności. Skuteczność tej broni strategicznej przećwiczył już Stalin. Nie ma nasion z GMO z laboratoriów bakserskich, nie ma żarcia. W tej sytuacji już tylko z tego powodu uprawy z GMO winny być bezwzględnie zakazane nawet w sytuacji gdyby żywność z tego była bezpieczna dla człowieka.

Russia Bans Monsanto GMO Corn
Russian authorities have temporarily suspended the import and sale of Monsanto’s GMO (genetically-modified) corn, following the results of a French study, which suggest the company’s corn could be linked to cancer.
Rospotrebnadzor, Russia’s consumer-rights regulator, asked scientists with the country’s Institute of Nutrition to review the French study and see if it is credible, reports RT.
The Monsanto GMO corn study was prepared by France’s University of Caen and was published last week. The study claims that rats fed for two years with the company’s genetically-modified NK603 corn developed more tumors and multiple organ failure than the control group. The NK603 GMO corn is genetically engineered to withstand a specific weedkiller.
Monsanto immediately criticized the study, saying:
“[It] doesn’t meet minimum acceptable standards for this type of scientific research.”
When releasing a statement about Russia’s ban, Monsanto stated that the ban will have little effect on their business, because the country only imports small amounts of corn from the US. Russia’s government also does not permit farmers to plant GMO crops. Monsanto’s spokesman stated:
“Russia is a net exporter of grain, so the actual impact of their temporary suspension, if any, is likely to be small.”
The Wall Street Journal notes that the Monsanto GMO corn study was greeted with skepticism by many in the science and nutrition community, including those who said the sample size was too small and that data incomplete.
The French government has ordered its food-safety agency to review the study. It also added that it will seek an immediate ban on European Union imports of Monsanto’s corn if the study’s findings are deemed conclusive.
